8.  Rosetta Joan, Born 8 March 1803.  Bapt. 15 March 1803 at North Martson.  M 1824 Joseph Neal (who was previously the husband of Rosetta’s sister Sarah.  He Died 1842).  After her husband’s death she took over as licensee of the Bell Inn, Winslow.  M 2nd Thomas Essex.  She had issue by her 1st husband:                     PR

1b.Charles Henry Field, Born 1868 at Blechley, Co. Bucks.  He was recorded as “aged 13”, as having been born at Blechley & as living at High Street, Lathbury, Co. Bucks. with his mother & paternal grandmother, 1881 Census.                                                                                        

12.  Joseph Ingram, of Padbury, Co. Bucks.,  Bapt. 7 Aug. 1810 at North Marston.  M 1857 at Padbury, his 1st cousin Elizabeth Flowers (Born 1821 at Padbury.  She was recorded as “aged 60”, as having been born at Padbury & as living at Old End, Padbury with her husband, 1881 Census), d. of Thomas Flowers, of Padbury, & his wife Keziah (See ABOVE).  He was recorded as living at Gatton, Surrey, 1851 Census.  Recorded as a “Retired Farmer”, “aged 70”, as having been born at North Marston, Co. Bucks., & as living at “Old End, Padbury, Co. Bucks. With his wife, 1881 Census.  Died 1882 at Padbury.  Bur. Padbury.           PR;1851 & 1881 Census

          13.      Octavious Henry (Rev.), B.A., of Sheriff Hutton, Co. Yorks.,  Born 10 April 1812 at North Marston.  Recorde as “Octavious Henry Flowers, born at North Marston, Bucks” he was admitted sizar to St. John’s College, Cambridge, 31 Oct. 1833; & later migrated to Queen’s College, 12 Oct. 1838.  Matriculated at Michelmas 1838.  Graduated B.A., 1842.  Ordained a deacon at London, 20 March 1842.  Curate of Nunnington, Co. Yorks., 1843-57.  Vicar of Sheriff Hutton, Co. Yorks, 1857-80.  In the transcription of the landowners of the North Riding of Yorkshire in 1871 he is recorded as owning 6 acres in the parish of Sheriff Hutton having an annual rental value of £36.  Died 6 April 1880 at Sheriff Hutton.  In 1881 his brother Marcus commissioned & had placed in Sheriff Hutton Church as a memorial to him a “reredos of caen stone” depicting in the centre panel a representation of the Last Supper, after Leonardo da Vinci, & in the canopied niches on either side, are the 4 Evangelists.     

14.  Frederick Charles, Bapt. 10 July 1815 at North Marston.  Died 6 June 1848.            PR

15.  Marcus Octavious, Bapt. 30 April 1818 at North Marston.  Educ. Grace’s School, Brook Hall, Winslow, Co. Bucks.  He went to London & was Assistant to his brother John at the Windsor Castle Hotel, near Victoria Station.  Through the auspices of his brother Octavious, he obtained a post as a clerk at the British Consulate in Amsterdam & was later selected as interpreter on an embassy to Japan.  He was later promoted to HM Consul at Osaka, Japan, before Aug. 1867.  M Fanny Eliza Evans, of Hong Kong (She was recorded as “aged 36”, as having been born at “Mallacca” & as living at 4 Cliff Lansdown, Eastbourne, Sussex, 1881 Census).  Recorded as “HM Consul Japan”, as “aged 63”, as having been born at North Marston, Co. Bucks., & as living at 4 Cliff Lansdown, Eastbourne, Sussex with his wife, 1881 Census.  Died 1892.  He had issue:                                                                               PR;1881 Census

1a.Marcus Edwin (Rev.), B.A.,  Born 29 Oct. 1870 in Japan.  Educ. Cheltenham College.  Recorded as “aged 10”, as having been born at “Marylebone, Middlesex” & as living with his parents at 4 Cliff Lansdown, Eastbourne, Sussex, 1881 Census.  Recorded as “Marcus Edwin Flowers, son of Mark [sic] Ovtavious Flowers, formerly of Japan, aged 19” he was admitted to Pembroke College, Cambridge University, 1 Oct. 1889.  Matriculated 1889.  Graduated B.A., 1892.  Ordained a deacon at York, 1894.  Curate of Guisborough, Co. Yorks., 1894-5.                   

ALFRED THOMAS FLOWERS, of London.,  Born 30 January 1801 – as recorded in the baptismal register.  Bapt. 7 Feb. 1801 at North Marston, Co. Bucks.   M 1st 8 June 1824 at St. Marylebone, London, Ann Moreton.  M 2nd Selina Ann Connett (Bapt. 17 Jan. 1813 at St. Mary’s Church, Marylebone, London.  She was recorded as “aged 37”, as having been born at “Middlesex, St Marylebone” & as living at 8 Bedford Place, Rotherhithe with her husband & family, 1851 Census.  She was recorded as “Selina Ann Flowers, aged 58”, as a “Widow”, as a “Needlewoman”, as having been born at “Middlesex, Marylebone” & as living at Rotherhithe, Surrey, 1871 Census.  She was recorded as “Selina Anne Flowers, widow, aged 68”, as having been born as Marylebone, & as living with her daughter Sarah at 40 New Street New Cut, Lambeth, Surrey, 1881 Census.  Died 1882 at Lambeth – recorded in her death certificate as “aged 69”), d. of John Connett, of St. Marylebone, London & his wife Anne, d. of Charles Sammon, of the Parish of St. Botolph’s without Aldgate, Middlesex (See CONNETT).  At his marriage in 1824 he was recorded in the marriage register as being as “of North Marston, Co. Bucks.”  At the registration of the birth of his daughter Susannah he was recorded in her birth certificate as “Alfred Thomas Flowers, Baker”, 18 Feb. 1850.  He was recorded as “Alfred Thos. Flowers”, as a “Master Baker”, as having been born at “Buckinghamshire, North Marston” & as living at 8 Bedford Place, Rotherhithe with his 2nd wife & his children, 1851 Census.  At the marriage of his daughter Susannah he was recorded in her marriage certificate as “Alfred Thomas Flowers, Baker”, 16 Aug. 1870.  Died 1856.  He had issue by his 1st wife:

12.  William, Born 10 Oct. 1852 at 8 Bedford Place, Rotherhithe, Surrey.  He travelled to Australia as a member of the crew on a merchant ship, c. 1870.  Joined the Victoria Naval Reserve, Australia, as a boatman, 21 March 1871.  He later became a river pilot & the captain of a steamer called ‘Osprey’.  M 1873 at Williamstown, Victoria, Australia, Alice Maria Johnson, d. of James Johnson & his wife Ellen White. 

1a.Harold Alfred, Born 23 July 1887.  M 1915 at Bendigo, Victoria, Ida Irene Emerson.  He had issue:

SUSANNAH FLOWERS, Born 9 Jan. 1850 at 8 Bedford Place, Rotherhithe, Surrey.  She was recorded as “aged 1”, as having been born at “Surrey, Rotherhithe”, & as living at 8 Bedford Place, Rotherhithe with her parents, 1851 Census.  M 16 August 1870 at Hackney Parish Church, Middlesex, John William Priestman, “Photographer”, of Poplar, Middlesex (Born 11 Feb. 1843 at Lower Homerton, Middlesex). At her marriage she was recorded in her marriage certificate as of “full age”, as a spinster & as daughter of “Alfred Thomas Flowers, Baker”.  She was recorded as “aged 31”, as having been born at Rotherhithe  & as living with her husband & family at 142 East India Road, Poplar, London, 1881 Census.  She was recorded as “aged 51”, as having been born at Rotherhithe & as living with her husband & family at 3 Hall Street, Mile End Old Town, 1901 Census.  Died after 31 March 1901 (the date of the 1901 Census).  She had issue:  (See PRIESTMAN)

JOSEPH INGRAM STEVENS FLOWERS, Born 8 Aug 1833 at Waddesdon, Co. Bucks. Baptised in Waddesdon on the 28 June 1837.  M Elizabeth Baseley at Lambeth, London, in 1860. Recorded as being aged 8 and living at Blackgrove Farm, Quainton, in the Distict of Aylesbury in the in the 1841 Census.  Died 1894.  He had issue:

FRANK FLOWERS Born 28 Jan 1874 at Greenwich, Kent.  Emigrated to South Africa in 1888 (aged 14).  M Frances Cecilia Emily Dickens (Born 6 Feb 1870 in Ladybrand, Orange River Colony, South Africa) on the 5 Oct 1895 in Cape Town.  Died 9 July 1920 in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa.  He had issue:

1a Walter Ingram Born 15 Aug 1896, Cape Town, South Africa Died 3 Nov 1896, aged 2 months

1b Frank Baseley. Born 20 Sept 1897, Cape Town, South Africa.  Died 10 Aug 1898, aged 10 months

ALFRED MARCUS FLOWERS  Born 2 Oct 1899 in Cape of Good Hope (Cape Town), South Africa.  M Sylvia Dorothy Howarth in Johannesburg on the 30 Nov 1922.  (Sylvia was born in Cape of Good Hope, [Cape Town], South Africa in 30 Nov 1900:  Died Salisbury, Rhodesia 24 Apr 1973)  Alfred died 12 Sept 1958 in Salisbury, Rhodesia.  Both are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Salisbury Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe) He had children:
